About the Role
The Senior/Staff Product Engineer role at Runway is a unique opportunity to join a collaborative business planning platform that's changing the way companies operate. As a key member of the engineering team, you'll be working closely with design and product to plan, architect, and implement Runway's core product. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about building innovative solutions and is excited about the prospect of shaping the company's technical foundation.The day-to-day responsibilities of this role will involve working across the stack to develop and implement new features, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration. You'll be expected to iterate on the product experience, working in small batches and moving fast to deliver value for customers.
As a senior/staff product engineer, you'll be part of a remote-first team that values open communication, trust, and clarity. You'll have the opportunity to work from anywhere in North America, with regular meetups in San Francisco and other locations.
What You Will Do
- Build and maintain Runway's core product, working closely with design and product teams
- Develop and implement new features, iterating on the product experience to get it right
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration
- Work across the stack to develop and implement new features
- Participate in code reviews and ensure high-quality code
- Troubleshoot and debug issues, collaborating with the team to resolve problems
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, ensuring that knowledge is shared across the team
- Participate in planning and architecture discussions, helping to shape the company's technical foundation
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, helping to grow the team's capabilities
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on product engineering
- Strong proficiency in Excel and experience with business planning platforms
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to dig deep and find creative solutions
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams
- Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems
- Strong understanding of software development principles, including testing and debugging
- Experience with cloud-based technologies and scalable systems
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
