About the Role

What You Will Do

  • Build working prototypes of developer surfaces, tooling integrations, and applications on top of open source AI infrastructure, focusing on rapid development and deployment.
  • Utilize coding agents and AI-assisted development tools as a core part of your workflow to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Translate complex concepts and strategy ideas into interactive demonstrations that can anchor conversations, community events, or content pieces.
  • Collaborate closely with the social media and community team to ensure that prototypes are legible, shareable, and can be easily understood and reacted to by developers.
  • Contribute to Mozilla's open source repositories, working in the open and ensuring that your code is something the community can fork, extend, and learn from.
  • Stay updated on the open source AI ecosystem, identifying gaps and opportunities where working prototypes can make a significant impact.
  • Participate in evaluating and providing feedback on open source AI tools, stacks, and developer surfaces based on your hands-on experience.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of your prototypes, ensuring that they are well-documented and accessible to the community.
  • Engage with the developer community through forums, meetups, and other platforms to gather feedback and improve the prototypes.

What We Are Looking For

  • Solid software engineering fundamentals, with the ability to write readable, maintainable code.
  • Demonstrated experience with coding agents and AI-assisted development tools, using them as a force multiplier in your development process.
