About the Role
The QA Engineer II/III role at Arch Capital Group Ltd. is a critical position that involves designing, testing, and deploying effective test automation solutions. As a key member of the quality assurance team, you will work closely with the Agile Program Manager, Digital Product Manager, and Business Systems Analyst to document and plan test cases for regression, integration, and automation test plans. Your primary goal will be to ensure that software applications meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance.In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals who are passionate about delivering exceptional results. You will be responsible for troubleshooting existing automation, optimizing the automation framework, and supporting functional validation and sprint activities. Your expertise in test automation, manual testing, and collaboration with development teams will be invaluable in driving the company's digital transformation forward.
What You Will Do
- Design, develop, and execute automated test plans against developed features
- Write test automation scripts using languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or C#
- Troubleshoot existing automation and optimize the automation framework
- Support functional validation and sprint activities
- Communicate with development teams, other product teams, and management to ensure proper test coverage of existing and new features and functionality
- Build upon an existing framework to develop and execute automated test plans
- Identify and report defects, working with the team to resolve issues
- Continuously improve the automation framework and workflow processes, keeping solutions up-to-date with the latest technologies
- Lead scrum test teams by example, encouraging collaboration, contribution, and commitment to shared goals
- Guide and mentor junior team members on the latest trends in automation
- Develop test scripts to implement features, test scenarios, and step-definitions for BDD using Cucumber or Spock Framework
What We Are Looking For
- 12 years of experience in testing, SDET, or development, with a mix of skills preferred
- Good understanding of OOP concepts, including inheritance, abstraction, encapsulation, and polymorphism
- Hands-on experience with automation and manual testing frameworks
- Proficiency in automation tools such as Selenium WebDriver with Java, TestNG, JUnit, Maven, Cucumber, and Jenkins
- Experience with API/microservices/integration testing using tools like Postman
- Knowledge of build management tools such as Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, or Ansible
- Understanding of testing life cycle, including test designs, test cases development, functional testing, defect preparation, and test report preparation
- Experience working with agile teams, collaborating with team members to define test plans and cases
- Basic insurance knowledge is a plus
Nice to Have
- Prior development experience and knowledge
- Experience with cloud repositories such as Bitbucket, GitHub, or GitLab
- Familiarity with continuous integration tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or TeamCity
- Knowledge of Xray for test management and execution in JIRA
