Job Description

About the Role

As a 2D Game Design Intern at Playpower Labs, you'll join a dynamic team focused on creating engaging EdTech games powered by AI.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on designing game worlds, characters, and visual themes for K-8 learners.
  • Create UI screens from initial concepts to high-fidelity Figma mockups.
  • Design various 2D game assets, including characters, backgrounds, icons, and UI components.
  • Develop mood boards and style treatments appropriate for young audiences.
  • Utilize AI art tools to generate and refine game art, ensuring high visual standards.
  • Edit and finalize assets in Photoshop and Figma for production readiness.

Requirements

  • Strong fundamentals of visual design, including color, typography, and layout.
  • Sensitivity to age-appropriate design for children, ensuring readability and emotional engagement.
  • Proficiency in AI art tools (like ChatGPT, Midjourney) as well as Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience with Figma, including prototyping and auto-layout features.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.

Nice to Have

  • Basic skills in animation tools (Lottie, After Effects).
  • Prior experience in EdTech or designing for children's products.
