About the Role

The Head, Project Control & Services role at Mekdam Technical Services is a senior leadership position that requires a unique blend of technical expertise, management skills, and industry knowledge. As a key member of the team, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of major oil and gas projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role will be working closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and construction, to ensure seamless project execution.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and implement project control strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
  • Lead a team of project control engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure that project goals are met
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and construction, to ensure seamless project execution
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, developing and implementing risk management plans as needed
  • Develop and implement project monitoring and control systems, including earned value management (EVM) and project performance metrics
  • Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and other external parties to ensure that project deliverables meet their requirements
  • Develop and maintain project reports, including progress reports, status reports, and lessons learned documents
  • Ensure that project documentation is accurate, complete, and up-to-date, and that all project records are properly maintained
  • Develop and implement project close-out procedures, including finalizing project accounts, documenting lessons learned, and conducting post-project reviews

What We Are Looking For

  • B.Sc. in an Engineering discipline from a recognized University, with a higher degree being advantageous
  • Membership of a recognized professional engineering association or institution
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas Industry, with a minimum of 8 years in the position of Head/Lead Project Control Engineer
  • Hands-on experience with planning and scheduling software packages, including Primavera P6, P6 Analytics, Primavera Risk Analysis, MS Project, and MS Office
  • Experience with SAP and other project management tools
  • Strong knowledge of industry best practices, including project management methodologies, such as Agile and Waterfall
  • Excellent management, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment, with a strong focus on digital collaboration and communication

Nice to Have

  • MBA and/or PMP certification
  • Experience with other project management tools, such as Asana, Trello, or Basecamp
  • Knowledge of data analytics and data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Experience with cloud-based project management platforms, such as Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud
