Job Description

About the Role

The Accessories Technical Leader role at GE Vernova is a unique opportunity to provide technical leadership and mentoring to the Americas Accessories Product Service team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for delivering technical guidance and support to customers and internal stakeholders, while also fostering a strong safety culture and driving process improvements.

The role entails working closely with cross-functional teams, including Design Engineering, Chief Engineering Office, Product Safety Engineering, and Regional Customer Engineering Centers. You will be responsible for overseeing the team's workload, prioritizing technical inquiries, and ensuring timely and accurate responses to critical issues.

As a technical leader, you will have the opportunity to develop and coach engineers, seeing immediate impact and satisfaction as you help electrify the world. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, adapting quickly to changing priorities, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to provide timely technical resolutions.

What You Will Do

  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to the Americas Accessories Product Service team
  • Offer direct technical support to global power plants equipped with GE Vernova equipment
  • Operate as the primary technical point of contact for accessory system-related technical inquiries
  • Manage the accessories team's ER workload and prioritization, providing technical guidance for ER owners
  • Support timely and accurate responses to critical issues
  • Assist accessories team RCA leaders in overcoming challenges during complex root cause analysis investigations
  • Deliver GE Vernova technical guidance to customers or site representatives through user conferences, webinars, and technical documents
  • Communicate technical details and business risks to internal stakeholders
  • Coach the team to enhance their communication skills continuously
  • Identify trending issues, develop countermeasures to protect the customer fleet, and communicate these to the relevant audience
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide timely technical resolutions

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • A minimum of 8 years of direct experience with GE/Alstom accessory and/or power plant systems
  • Strong communication skills across all levels, including field engineers, site engineers, plant managers, and GE Vernova leadership
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities across multiple projects
  • A humble, open, collaborative, and continuously learning approach
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites to support issue resolution when necessary
  • Comfort with tackling unfamiliar technical problems and a willingness to mentor engineers in applying problem-solving methods under pressure

Nice to Have

  • Experience with gas turbine accessory systems
  • Knowledge of power plant operations and maintenance
  • Familiarity with root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies
  • Certification in a relevant field, such as mechanical engineering or a related discipline
