About the Role

The Account Development Manager position at Mercury is a critical role that focuses on expanding product adoption, preventing churn, and driving meaningful expansion revenue. As an early member of the Account Development team, you will work directly with Mercury customers at pivotal moments in their journey, providing a human touch when timing and context are everything. This is a quota-carrying role that requires a deep understanding of the fintech industry and the ability to build strong relationships with clients.

The role entails working closely with customers to identify areas where additional solutions can create the most value. This involves leveraging product-usage data, lifecycle triggers, and predictive scoring models to engage with high-propensity accounts. You will be responsible for consistently exceeding monthly expansion goals by building and maintaining a robust pipeline.

What You Will Do

  • Identify high-propensity accounts by leveraging product-usage data, lifecycle triggers, and predictive scoring models
  • Consistently exceed monthly expansion goals by building and maintaining a robust pipeline
  • Design smart outreach strategies that combine data insights, account research, and discovery to craft scalable one-to-many campaigns
  • Partner with Product and Marketing teams to test, learn, and refine the evolving go-to-market playbook
  • Master and help evolve internal tools and processes to manage a high-velocity pipeline with maximum efficiency
  • Champion the Voice of the Customer, channeling feedback to Product and cross-functional teams to influence roadmap and strategy
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Mercury's products and services
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitor activity
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and expansion

What We Are Looking For

  • 2-4 years of experience in a quota-carrying Growth Sales, Account Management, or Customer Expansion role (fintech experience a plus)
  • Compelling communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into crisp value propositions
  • Proven track record of exceeding upsell targets through data-driven prioritization in a high-velocity environment
  • Builder's mindset, with a passion for creating and iterating on processes within a fast-growing team
  • Bias to action and autonomy, with the ability to swiftly convert new product launches and insights into cross-functional plays
  • Passion for fintech or banking, with a desire to shape the future of modern financial services
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically
  • Experience working with CRM systems and sales tools

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment
  • Familiarity with fintech products and services
  • Knowledge of sales and marketing automation tools
  • Certification in sales or marketing (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce)
