About the Role
The Account Director position at Collier Simon is a key role that involves serving as the primary presence on a major automotive dealership account. This person will be responsible for building trust with clients, from the corporate level down to the store, and ensuring that creative work lands where it matters. The role requires a unique blend of strategic thinking, creative vision, and project management skills.As an Account Director, you will be working closely with an inter-agency team to support a high-volume account, reporting directly to the agency President. Your day-to-day tasks will involve shaping creative strategy, driving it through to delivery, and translating business direction into market-specific plans. You will also be responsible for codifying briefs, directing the internal creative team, and partnering with dealership marketing directors and GMs to keep cluster and store-level workstreams moving.
The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong background in digital marketing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. You will be expected to build your own decks, run your own projects, communicate clearly, handle volume, and solve problems at the speed retail demands without passing the chaos on to the team.
What You Will Do
- Set strategy and own campaign delivery, executing campaign strategy at the market and store level
- Translate brand direction into localized, actionable plans, owning market-level and store-level workstreams end-to-end
- Coordinate across creative, production, and media to keep retail campaigns moving
- Build quick-turn materials, localized assets, and market-specific adaptations without heavy upstream support
- Manage a broad, concurrent portfolio—cluster campaigns, grand openings, partner sponsorships, and field activations
- Partner with the Creative Director to shape and codify the brief, then help steer the internal creative team toward strong, on-strategy work
- Serve as the day-to-day resource for field account leads, providing narratives, talking points, and materials to win GM buy-in
- Jump on calls, respond quickly, and solve problems at the speed the field moves
- Understand the challenges and opportunities across the dealership network well enough to translate them into actionable creative requests
- Own and grow relationships with marketing directors and priority GMs across assigned markets, earning trust through preparation, responsiveness, and follow-through
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in account management or a related field, preferably in the automotive industry
- Strong background in digital marketing, including experience with campaign execution and strategy
- Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal teams
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively
- Experience with creative briefs, campaign execution, and project management tools
- Strong understanding of the automotive industry, including current trends and challenges
- Ability to work in a remote environment, with excellent time management and organizational skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with data analysis and campaign measurement, including tools like Google Analytics

- Certification in digital marketing, such as Google Ads or HubSpot
