About the Role
The Account Director, Healthcare & Life Sciences, plays a critical role in driving the adoption of Openai's AI solutions among leading healthcare and life sciences organizations. This involves developing and executing strategic account plans, building executive-level relationships, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and deploy AI-powered solutions. The role requires a deep understanding of the healthcare and life sciences industry, including regulatory trends and workflow complexities.As a key member of the Go To Market (GTM) team, the Account Director will work closely with sales, solutions, support, marketing, and partnership professionals to create valuable solutions that meet the unique needs of healthcare and life sciences customers. This involves staying up-to-date on industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies that can be leveraged to drive business growth.
The Account Director will be responsible for managing a portfolio of accounts, including global pharmaceutical manufacturers, medical device companies, and contract research organizations. This requires a strong ability to navigate complex sales cycles, build relationships with key decision-makers, and communicate the value proposition of Openai's AI solutions.
What You Will Do
- Develop and execute strategic account plans for a portfolio of healthcare and life sciences accounts
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key decision-makers at leading healthcare and life sciences organizations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, solutions, support, marketing, and partnerships, to design and deploy AI-powered solutions
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulatory updates, and competitor activity to drive business growth and inform customer strategy
- Design and execute complex deal and partnership strategies that meet the unique needs of healthcare and life sciences customers
- Manage a revenue and consumption target, including forecasting and pipeline reporting
- Partner with compliance, privacy, and security teams to ensure responsible deployment of AI in regulated environments
- Represent Openai at industry conferences and thought-leadership events
- Monitor and analyze industry and regulatory trends to guide customer and product strategy
What We Are Looking For
- 14+ years of experience selling complex enterprise software or platform-as-a-service solutions to healthcare or life sciences customers
- Proven success achieving annual revenue targets >$2M+ in regulated industries
- Experience managing C-suite relationships across R&D, IT, medical, and commercial teams
- Strong understanding of healthcare and life sciences workflows, including drug discovery, clinical trials, and regulatory submissions
- Familiarity with data privacy, compliance, and security considerations in healthcare
- Demonstrated ability to design and execute complex deal and partnership strategies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with key decision-makers
- Ability to navigate complex sales cycles and communicate the value proposition of AI solutions
