About the Role
The Account Director, Large Enterprise role at OpenAI is a unique opportunity to lead the sales efforts for one of the most innovative and influential AI companies in the world. As a key member of the Go-To-Market (GTM) team, you will be responsible for managing a small number of key accounts, developing and executing comprehensive account plans, and driving revenue growth through the entire sales cycle. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including solutions, research engineering, and marketing, to create and deliver tailored solutions that meet the evolving needs of OpenAI's largest enterprise customers.The GTM team at OpenAI is responsible for helping customers understand the potential of AI and how to deploy it across their business. As an Account Director, you will be the primary point of contact for your assigned accounts, providing strategic guidance, technical expertise, and exceptional customer service. You will also be responsible for analyzing key account metrics, creating reports, and providing insights to internal and external stakeholders.
What You Will Do
- Manage a small number of key accounts, developing and executing comprehensive account plans that drive revenue growth and customer satisfaction
- Lead enterprise prospects through the entire sales cycle, from pipeline generation to successful deployment
- Partner with solutions and research engineering to build and execute complex customer programs and projects
- Own and manage consumption revenue targets and forecasts
- Analyze key account metrics, create reports, and provide insights to internal and external stakeholders
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor activity, and market developments to contribute to product roadmap and corporate strategies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, communications, business operations, people operations, finance, product management, and engineering
- Support the recruitment and onboarding of new team members
- Contribute to the development of company culture and values
What We Are Looking For
- 10+ years of experience selling platform-as-a-service and/or software-as-a-service solutions
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth and achieving revenue targets >$2M per year for more than 3 years
- Experience designing and executing complex deal strategies and supporting the growth of fast-growing, high-performance companies
- Strong technical skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to customers and internal stakeholders
- Native or near-native local language ability
- Experience working directly with C-level executives and leading high-visibility customer events
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather, distill, and process complex market intelligence
Nice to Have
- Experience working in the AI or machine learning industry
- Knowledge of GTM best practices and strategies
- Experience with sales forecasting and revenue planning
- Certification in sales or a related field
