Job Description

About the Role

The Account Director position at Openai is a pivotal role in the company's Go To Market (GTM) team, responsible for developing and executing comprehensive account plans for key customers. This role requires a deep understanding of AI solutions and their potential impact on businesses, as well as the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both internal stakeholders and external customers. The Account Director will work closely with the Sales, Solutions, Support, Marketing, and Partnership teams to create valuable solutions that bring AI to as many users as possible.

As an Account Director, you will be part of this mission, focusing on helping customers understand and leverage the power of AI across their business.

The role is based in Seoul, South Korea, with a hybrid work model that includes 3 days in the office per week, offering the right balance between collaborative work and independent focus. Openai also provides relocation assistance for new employees, making it easier for international candidates to join the team.

What You Will Do

  • Manage a small number of key accounts, developing and executing strategies for a comprehensive account plan that drives revenue growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead prospects through their journey from consideration to successful deployment, ensuring a smooth transition and high customer satisfaction.
  • Partner with solutions and research engineering teams to build and execute complex customer programs and projects that showcase the capabilities of Openai's AI solutions.
  • Own and manage consumption revenue targets, ensuring that sales goals are met or exceeded through strategic account planning and execution.
  • Analyze key account metrics to create reports and provide insights to internal and external stakeholders, helping to inform product roadmap decisions and corporate strategies.
  • Closely monitor the industry landscape, including competitors, partners, and emerging trends, to contribute to product development and strategic planning.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams across the organization, including solutions, marketing, communications, business operations, people operations, finance, product management, and engineering, to ensure a cohesive approach to customer engagement and revenue growth.
  • Support the recruitment and onboarding of new team members, helping to build a strong and diverse team.
  • Contribute to the development of company culture, fostering an environment of innovation, collaboration, and customer-centricity.

What We Are Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience in selling platform-as-a-service and/or software-as-a-service, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth and managing complex customer relationships.
  • Ability to speak fluent Korean and English, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in designing and executing complex deal strategies, with a deep understanding of sales principles and practices.
  • Background in supporting the growth of fast-growing, high-performance companies, with the ability to adapt to changing environments and priorities.
  • Proven ability to work directly with C-level executives, providing strategic guidance and support to drive business decisions.
  • Strong technical understanding, with the ability to communicate complex concepts to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience in leading high-visibility customer events, such as customer advisory boards, conferences, product launches, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Ability to gather, distill, and process complex market intelligence, including industry trends, competitor activity, and customer needs.

  • Background in data analysis and interpretation, with the ability to use data to inform sales strategies and customer engagement plans.
