About the Role

The Account Director role at Openai is a unique opportunity to drive the adoption of AI solutions in the retail industry. As a key member of the Go To Market team, you will work closely with sales, solutions, and research engineering to develop and execute comprehensive account plans for large enterprise retail customers. Your primary focus will be on managing a small number of key retail accounts, developing and executing strategies to drive revenue growth and customer satisfaction.

The retail industry is undergoing a significant transformation, with AI-powered solutions becoming increasingly important for companies looking to stay competitive. As an Account Director at Openai, you will be at the forefront of this transformation, working with customers to reimagine their customer experience, store and supply-chain operations, merchandising, marketing, and enterprise productivity with AI.

What You Will Do

  • Manage a small number of key retail accounts, developing and executing strategies for a comprehensive account plan
  • Lead large enterprise retail customers’ journeys from consideration to successful deployment
  • Partner with solutions and research engineering to build and execute complex customer programs and projects
  • Own a consumption revenue target and manage consumption revenue forecasts
  • Analyze key account metrics to create reports and provide insights to internal and external stakeholders
  • Closely monitor the retail landscape across UKI & North to contribute to product roadmap and other corporate strategies
  • Collaborate with solutions, marketing, communications, business operations, people operations, finance, product management, and engineering
  • Support the recruitment and onboarding of other teammates
  • Support the development of company culture

What We Are Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience selling platform-as-a-service and/or software-as-a-service to large retail, grocery, ecommerce, consumer goods, or CPG organizations across UKI
  • Familiarity with retail industry trends, including AI-assisted customer experience, ecommerce and omnichannel transformation, personalization, store operations, supply chain, merchandising, marketing, and customer service
  • Deep understanding of retail customers’ AI transformation priorities, adoption challenges, and operating realities
  • Achieving revenue targets >$2M per year for more than 3 years
  • Experience designing and executing complex deal strategies
  • Supporting the growth of fast-growing, high-performance companies
  • Working directly with c-level executives
  • Communicating technical concepts to customers and internal stakeholders
  • Leading high-visibility customer events
