What You Will Do

  • Manage a focused portfolio of hedge fund and alternative asset management accounts, developing long-term strategic account plans that drive revenue growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles across executive, investment, technology, data, AI, research, legal, security, and compliance teams to deploy OpenAI's AI systems.
  • Build trusted relationships with highly technical buyers and internal platform teams who evaluate, integrate, and govern AI across the firm.
  • Partner with Solutions, Product, Engineering, and Research to design pilots and scaled deployments with measurable business impact.
  • Help customers identify high-value AI use cases across investment research, data analysis, document intelligence, coding, market monitoring, workflow automation, and internal AI platform development.
  • Navigate regulated, security-sensitive environments with strong judgment around privacy, compliance, information barriers, and responsible AI deployment.
  • Own revenue, consumption, pipeline, and forecast performance for your book of business, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Track market structure, technology trends, and AI adoption patterns across hedge funds, multi-manager platforms, systematic investors, and adjacent buy-side firms.
  • Partner cross-functionally with marketing, partnerships, product, and communications to build OpenAI's hedge fund go-to-market motion.

What We Are Looking For

  • 14+ years of experience selling complex enterprise software, platform, API, cloud, data, AI, or infrastructure products to financial services firms.
  • 4+ years of experience selling into financial services, ideally hedge funds, asset managers, capital markets, or other technically sophisticated buy-side institutions.
  • Strong track record exceeding annual revenue targets of $2M+ in complex enterprise environments.
  • Credibility with both C-suite executives and deeply technical stakeholders, including engineering, data, AI/ML, research, and platform teams.
  • Understanding of how hedge funds and investment firms use data, research, analytics, software, and internal platforms to create differentiated investment processes.
  • Ability to translate technical AI capabilities into practical business value for investment, research, engineering, and operational teams.
  • Experience with API-first products, developer platforms, data infrastructure, AI/ML platforms, or similarly technical enterprise solutions.
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity, competitive accounts, long sales cycles, security reviews, and fast-moving customer priorities.
  • Customer-centric, intellectually curious, and energized by working with technically demanding customers in finance.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with cloud-based AI platforms, data analytics tools, or similar technologies.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks in the financial sector.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Certification in AI, machine learning, or data science.

Benefits and Perks

  • Competitive salary and bonus structure.
  • Equity package.
  • Comprehensive health insurance.
  • Generous PTO policy.
  • Remote work stipend.
  • Access to cutting-edge AI technologies and training programs.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and career development.

How to Stand Out

  • Develop a strong understanding of AI adoption in the financial sector, including the challenges and opportunities that come with it.
  • Build a portfolio that showcases your technical expertise and business acumen, highlighting your ability to drive revenue growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare to address common concerns around AI adoption, such as data security and regulatory compliance, and be ready to provide tailored solutions that meet the unique needs of each client.
  • Emphasize your customer-centric approach and ability to navigate complex sales cycles, highlighting your experience working with technically demanding customers in finance.
  • Be prepared to discuss your experience with API-first products, developer platforms, and data infrastructure, and explain how you can leverage these technologies to drive business impact.
  • Research OpenAI's Go To Market team and be prepared to discuss how you can contribute to the company's mission and values.
