About the Role
As an Account Director focused on Strategic Banking at Openai, you will be at the forefront of revolutionizing the banking industry through the power of artificial intelligence. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include managing executive-level relationships with leading global banking institutions, understanding their unique challenges, and leveraging Openai's cutting-edge AI solutions to transform their operations, enhance customer experiences, and unlock new business capabilities.The GTM team at Openai is dedicated to ensuring that customers can safely and effectively deploy AI across their businesses. As part of this team, you will collaborate closely with sales, solutions, support, marketing, and partnership professionals to create valuable solutions that will bring AI to as many users as possible.
Your role will require a deep understanding of banking workflows, including retail banking, commercial banking, investment banking, capital markets, payments, and wealth management. You will need to be well-versed in the regulatory environment and have the ability to navigate complex, cross-functional engagements with ease.
What You Will Do
- Develop and execute long-term strategic account plans for a focused portfolio of Strategic Banking accounts
- Lead complex sales cycles across multiple stakeholders, including business, technology, operations, and executive stakeholders
- Collaborate with the Solutions and Research Engineering teams to design pilots that demonstrate measurable business impact
- Work closely with compliance, privacy, security, and risk teams to ensure the responsible deployment of AI in highly regulated environments
- Own revenue and consumption targets, managing forecasts and pipeline reporting
- Monitor banking industry trends, regulatory changes, and AI advancements to guide customer and product strategy
- Represent Openai at industry conferences and thought leadership events, such as Money20/20, Sibos, and American Bankers Association events
- Partner with Marketing, Partnerships, and Communications to build the Strategic Banking go-to-market motion
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with C-suite executives, including CIOs, CTOs, Heads of Digital, Operations, Risk, and Lines of Business
What We Are Looking For
- 14+ years of experience selling complex enterprise software or platform-as-a-service solutions
- 4+ years of experience selling to large global banking organizations
- Proven track record of achieving annual revenue targets in excess of $2M+ in regulated industries
- Strong understanding of banking workflows across various sectors
- Demonstrated ability to design and execute complex deal and partnership strategies
- Customer-centric approach with the ability to translate complex business needs into transformative AI solutions
- Experience managing C-suite relationships and navigating complex sales cycles
- Strong business acumen and technical depth, with the ability to communicate complex ideas simply
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and thrive in ambiguity
Nice to Have
- Experience working with AI or machine learning solutions in a financial services context
- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms, such as AWS or Google Cloud
- Familiarity with data analytics tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
- Certification in a related field, such as fintech or digital transformation
