About the Role
The Account Executive role at Plaid is centered around driving growth and innovation in the banking and wealth sector. This involves developing and leading complex new enterprise deals, fostering strong relationships with key financial institutions, and contributing to the design and build of products tailored for the banking industry. As a crucial member of the Sales team, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and product, to define and execute Plaid's banking and wealth segment strategy.Day-to-day, you will identify potential customers, run the end-to-end sales process, and manage a pipeline of opportunities. Your expertise and insights will help shape how Plaid engages with and delivers solutions to the banking sector, ensuring that the company's products meet the evolving needs of financial institutions and their customers.
What You Will Do
- Identify potential customers and manage the sales process from initial contact to closure
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with executives, product teams, and developers at financial institutions
- Partner with sales, marketing, and product teams to define and execute the sales strategy for the banking and wealth segment
- Work with the Product team to identify gaps in Plaid's solutions for financial institutions and propose enhancements
- Manage a pipeline of opportunities and provide accurate forecasts of sales performance
- Develop and deliver sales materials, pitches, and presentations tailored to the banking and wealth sector
- Collaborate with Sales Engineers and Account Managers to ensure seamless onboarding and support of new customers
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies in financial services
- Participate in sales planning, including setting sales targets, quotas, and strategic objectives
- Engage in continuous learning to deepen your understanding of Plaid's products, the financial services industry, and sales methodologies
What We Are Looking For
- 3-5 years of quota-carrying sales experience, preferably in a financial services or technology context
- Strong track record of closing deals, with a consultative sales approach and a product-centric mindset
- Experience working with sales development teams and deploying a vertical-focused revenue strategy
- Preference for candidates with prior experience in the banking and wealth vertical
- Ability to articulate complex solutions to various levels of a banking organization
- Interest in financial services products and a desire to create strategic relationships that drive customer success
- Excitement to work in a high-growth environment and contribute to building processes and tools as needed
- Desire to develop a deeper understanding of Plaid's APIs and technical capabilities
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
