About the Role

The Account Executive, Commercial - German Speaking role at Fivetran represents a unique opportunity for a seasoned sales professional to leverage their expertise in driving business growth through SaaS and technology solutions. As a key member of the commercial team, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities across the DACH region, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless customer onboarding and success.

The day-to-day responsibilities of this role will involve proactive outbound prospecting, shaping your own pipeline, and guiding customers through consultative sales conversations that address their data challenges and showcase Fivetran's value proposition. Your ability to understand customer needs, tailor solutions, and negotiate agreements will be crucial in achieving sales targets and expanding Fivetran's presence in the market.

What You Will Do

  • Proactively identify and engage new commercial customers through outbound prospecting, leveraging your network and market insights to pinpoint high-potential opportunities.
  • Build and close your own pipeline of opportunities, leading discovery conversations to understand customer data challenges and translate them into Fivetran solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales Development, Solutions Engineering, Marketing, and Partner teams to ensure a cohesive and customer-centric approach to sales and customer success.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with technology partners and system integrators to expand Fivetran's ecosystem and enhance its value proposition.
  • Share learnings and contribute to improving sales strategies and processes, helping to scale the business efficiently and effectively.
  • Participate in Fivetran's Revenue Bootcamp, a mandatory one-week, in-person training program designed to equip new sales team members with the knowledge and skills necessary for success.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge and inform sales strategies.
  • Provide input on product development and feedback from customers to help drive innovation and ensure Fivetran's solutions meet evolving market needs.
  • Work closely with the customer success team to ensure a smooth handover of accounts and to leverage insights from customer engagements to identify new sales opportunities.

What We Are Looking For

  • At least 2 years of closing experience in a SaaS or technology sales role, with a proven track record of consistent overachievement against quota.
  • A strong understanding of the DACH market, including its nuances, trends, and key players, as well as experience in navigating complex sales environments.
  • Fluency in German, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and partners.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a high degree of autonomy and self-motivation.
  • Experience with CRM systems and sales tools, with the ability to leverage data and analytics to inform sales strategies and optimize performance.
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business, economics, or computer science, although equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • A strong network of contacts within the DACH region's technology and business communities, with the ability to leverage these connections to drive sales growth.

  • Experience working with data integration platforms or cloud-based technologies, with a solid understanding of the technical aspects of Fivetran's solutions.
  • Familiarity with sales methodologies and frameworks, such as Solution Selling or Challenger Sales, with the ability to adapt and apply these approaches in a rapidly evolving market.
