About the Role
As an Account Executive at Darktrace, you will be the driving force behind acquiring new business within a defined territory. Your role is pivotal in expanding market share and maximizing revenue growth through the identification and engagement of new prospects. This is a position that requires a proactive approach, the ability to develop strategic account plans, and the skill to close high-value deals. Given the nature of Darktrace's innovative AI cybersecurity solutions, there is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in the protection of businesses across various industries.Day-to-day, you will be expected to own the full sales cycle, from the initial stages of prospecting to the final stages of closing deals. This involves not only identifying potential clients but also presenting Darktrace's solutions in a compelling manner to key stakeholders, including C-level executives and security professionals. The role demands a high level of independence, strong sales acumen, and the ability to articulate complex cybersecurity challenges and solutions effectively.
In terms of team context, you will be part of a dynamic sales team that is supported by technical experts, including Subject Matter Experts, Technical Account Managers, and Cyber Threat Analysts. This collaborative environment is designed to deliver tailored solutions to clients, addressing their specific security needs and enhancing their cybersecurity posture.
What You Will Do
- Drive new business acquisition by identifying and closing net-new logo opportunities within your assigned territory.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to expand market presence and exceed revenue targets.
- Self-generate leads through targeted outreach, networking, and leveraging marketing and inside sales support.
- Engage and present Darktrace’s cybersecurity solutions to key stakeholders, including CISOs, IT leaders, and security professionals.
- Own the sales cycle end-to-end, from prospecting and qualifying leads to negotiating and closing deals.
- Upsell and expand within accounts by identifying additional opportunities for Darktrace’s solutions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with technical teams to deliver tailored demos and Proof of Values (POVs).
- Maintain accurate pipeline management using CRM tools and provide regular sales forecasts.
- Develop and maintain Relationships with existing and potential customers.
- Stay updated with industry trends and competitor activity to identify new business opportunities.
What We Are Looking For
- 6+ years of outbound B2B sales experience with a proven track record of acquiring net-new customers and exceeding quotas.
- Experience selling complex software solutions, preferably in cybersecurity or highly regulated industries.
- Strong ability to drive high-velocity sales cycles, handle objections, and close deals independently.
- Proficiency in value-based selling and articulating how Darktrace solutions solve specific security challenges.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage executive stakeholders.
- Experience managing a defined territory and building a sustainable pipeline of new business opportunities.
- Comfortable using CRM and sales tools to manage opportunities and track customer engagement.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
