About the Role

The Account Executive III role at Sumo Logic is a crucial position that requires a high level of sales expertise and technical knowledge. As a key member of the mid-market sales team, you will be responsible for managing a defined geographic territory, targeting new customers, and delivering exceptional sales experiences. Your day-to-day activities will include prospecting, demoing products, and negotiating deals. You will work closely with internal resources to ensure seamless customer onboarding and support.

The mid-market sales team at Sumo Logic has a consultative sales approach, which means you will need to have a deep understanding of the technical audience and be able to communicate complex solutions in a clear and concise manner.

What You Will Do

  • Target and manage a defined geographic territory with under 1,500 employees
  • Own the full sales cycle, from prospecting to close, to fill Sumo Logic's pipeline
  • Create and deliver accurate sales forecasts
  • Perform product demos using web tools to prospect and customers
  • Partner with internal resources to provide a stellar experience for prospective customers and ensure their needs are met
  • Develop and maintain a strong contact network within the Big Data ecosystem
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify new sales opportunities
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitor activity
  • Continuously improve sales strategies and techniques to optimize results

What We Are Looking For

  • 3+ years of quota-carrying experience selling B2B applications, on-demand/SaaS, IT Infrastructure Management, or Cloud Security offerings
  • History of quota over-achievement selling to a technical audience like IT operations, Security, and DevOps teams
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset
  • Contact network within the Big Data ecosystem
  • Salesforce power user
  • Experience with sales forecasting and pipeline management
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native applications and security solutions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with mid-market customers
  • Knowledge of Sumo Logic's products and services
  • Familiarity with the Australian market
  • Certification in sales or a related field
