About the Role
The Account Specialist role at AbbVie is a key position that involves promoting products to community practices and health systems. This role requires a unique blend of sales, technical, and interpersonal skills, as the successful candidate will need to build strong relationships with healthcare providers, understand their needs, and provide effective training and education. The day-to-day responsibilities of this role will include managing sales goals, identifying customer needs, and addressing them with the appropriate resources. The Account Specialist will also work closely with other team members to promote products and execute training sessions within hospital and health system accounts. As a representative of AbbVie, the Account Specialist will be expected to comply with all company policies, maintain accurate records, and manage field assets effectively.What You Will Do
- Promote products to meet or exceed sales goals in community and private practices, as well as hospitals and health systems
- Comply with all company policies, required reports, and promotional compliance
- Identify and address customer needs, including training, clinical, operational, and reimbursement requirements
- Provide education and clinical/injection training for residents, fellows, and other key hospital personnel
- Collaborate with other Account Specialists to promote products for approved indications
- Execute individual, department, or group resident/fellow trainings within hospital/health system accounts
- Utilize AbbVie's sales and data resources to enhance productivity and growth of AbbVie products
- Implement the U.S. Marketing Plan and drive sales growth
- Develop and maintain relationships with various accounts and departments
- Manage a complex sell, learning procedural, technical, clinical, and anatomical information quickly
- Communicate and present training to a variety of audiences
What We Are Looking For
- Documented history of strong sales performance, preferably in a clinical/technical/consultative sales role
- Ability to manage a complex sell and learn procedural, technical, clinical, and anatomical information quickly
- Experience with Buy & Bill and/or Specialty Pharmacy products, in both health systems and private practice
- Ability to lift/pull 25-100 lb training models and meet necessary hospital credentialing/vaccination requirements
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test
- Ability to travel adequately to cover territory, as well as overnight attendance at scheduled training events and sales meetings
- Ability to satisfy all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements
