About the Role

The Accountant role at FlexStaff is a critical component of the company's financial management team. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for managing and analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations. Your work will have a direct impact on the company's financial decision-making and strategic planning.

In this role, you will work closely with various stakeholders, including the finance team, operations team, and external auditors. Your ability to communicate complex financial information effectively and provide insightful analysis will be essential in supporting business decisions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and proficiency in financial software applications, particularly Excel. What You Will Do

  • Assist with the capitalization of all fixed assets for the system
  • Compile and analyze account information to prepare asset, liability, and expense journal entries
  • Maintain plant ledger for all Health system assets
  • Prepare and record asset, liability, and expense journal entries
  • Create and maintain PeopleSoft project budgets for use by Corporate Facilities and various hospitals
  • Perform full lifecycle fixed asset management, including capitalization, useful life analysis, reconciliation, and reporting
  • Maintain detailed monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare monthly fiscal reports and all supporting schedules to reflect capital project spend
  • Validate, analyze, and organize data to report on variances between actual and budgeted financial results
  • Liaise between finance and operations by coordinating and analyzing financial data to support both
  • Assist in the annual budget process for depreciation

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • 0-2 Years of experience in accounting or a related field
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Database knowledge preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

Nice to Have

  • Experience with financial software applications, such as PeopleSoft
  • Knowledge of accounting regulations and standards
  • Certification in accounting, such as CPA
