About the Role

Hologram is seeking an experienced Accountant to join their team, reporting to the Sr. Manager of Accounting. As a key member of the accounting team, you will be responsible for the timely recording of all financial transactions and the production of monthly GAAP-compliant financial statements. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of Hologram's financial reporting, particularly in a fast-growing SaaS company.

The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, including revenue recognition and inventory management. You will be responsible for leading the monthly close process, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, and partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate recording of monthly revenue and inventory.

What You Will Do

  • Own the monthly close process, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate recording of monthly revenue (ASC 606) and inventory (ASC 330)
  • Research emerging accounting and reporting issues to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP
  • Lead Accounting process improvement initiatives, including ongoing development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and identification of automation opportunities
  • Collaborate with business units to ensure financial accountability and accurate recording of financial transactions
  • Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts to support business growth and decision-making
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and implement internal controls to ensure accuracy and reliability of financial reporting
  • Provide training and support to junior accounting staff as needed

What We Are Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in a SaaS company
  • Strong foundation in accounting principles, including revenue recognition and inventory management
  • Experience with financial reporting and analysis, including financial statement preparation and review
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex accounting issues
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in Excel and accounting software, with experience with ERP systems a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, with CPA certification a plus

Nice to Have

  • Experience with automation tools and process improvement initiatives
  • Knowledge of ASC 606 and ASC 330, with experience in implementing and maintaining compliance
  • Experience with financial planning and analysis, including budgeting and forecasting
  • Certification in accounting or related field, such as CMA or CIA
