About the Role

The Accountant I role at Deel is a critical position that requires a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to assist with day-to-day financial transactions, month-end close activities, and ensure accurate financial reporting. As a key member of the finance team, the successful candidate will work closely with colleagues to drive financial excellence and support the company's continued growth. The role entails a mix of financial analysis, accounting, and reporting, providing an opportunity to develop a wide range of skills and expertise. Deel's finance team is responsible for managing the company's financial operations, including financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting. What You Will Do

  • Assist with day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Prepare and review financial statements, such as balance sheets and income statements
  • Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to management and other stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the finance team to develop and implement financial processes and procedures
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities, including data analysis and financial modeling
  • Provide support for audits and other financial reviews, including preparing audit schedules and responding to audit inquiries
  • Develop and maintain financial models and reports to support business decision-making
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives, such as financial system implementations and process improvements

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • At least 1 year of experience in accounting or finance
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and financial modeling
  • Experience with accounting software, such as QuickBooks or Xero
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

Nice to Have

  • Experience with financial planning and budgeting
  • Knowledge of financial systems and software, such as ERP systems
