About the Role
The Accounting Manager role at Clera is a critical position responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and scalability of financial operations. As a key member of the Finance team, you will own the full accounting cycle, drive process improvements, and lead a team of staff accountants in a high-growth, cross-functional environment. This role is ideal for experienced accounting professionals who are looking to make a significant impact in a rapidly expanding company.In this role, you will be responsible for leading the month-end close process, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting. You will also oversee core accounting functions such as revenue recognition, inventory, intercompany transactions, payroll, AP/AR, and fixed assets. Your expertise in financial analysis and reporting will be essential in delivering actionable business insights to drive growth and improvement.
As a leader in the Finance team, you will be expected to develop and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls documentation. You will also identify and implement process improvements and automation to support scale, ensuring that the company's financial operations are efficient and effective.
What You Will Do
- Lead and own the month-end close process, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting
- Oversee core accounting functions: revenue recognition, inventory, intercompany transactions, payroll, AP/AR, and fixed assets
- Review and manage preparation of financial statements and internal reporting packages
- Perform balance sheet and P&L fluctuation analyses to deliver actionable business insights
- Manage treasury activities, including cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and liquidity optimization
- Partner with Supply Chain to improve inventory controls, reporting, and forecasting
- Develop and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls documentation
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation to support scale
- Manage, mentor, and develop staff accountants to foster a high-performance team
- Support external audits and readiness for public reporting requirements
- Collaborate cross-functionally to drive accountability, transparency, and operational efficiency
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; CPA preferred
- 5+ years of accounting experience, including public accounting, with 2–3 years in a manager or supervisory role
- Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP with hands-on expertise across ASC 606, inventory accounting, intercompany transactions, payroll, AP/AR, and fixed assets
- Treasury management experience: cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and investment strategies
- Proficiency with ERP systems and strong Excel skills for analysis and reporting
- Proven track record of driving process improvements and automation in accounting workflows
- Experience supporting external audits and ensuring public reporting readiness
- Background in eCommerce inventory management and healthcare industry operations
- Leadership experience mentoring and developing a staff accounting team
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with eCommerce, inventory, and supply chain teams
- Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate financial data into clear business insights
