This position is essential for ensuring the integrity of Coinbase's global consolidation and the scalability of its financial infrastructure. As the company expands its global footprint, the successful candidate will play a critical role in managing the month-end close process for intercompany settlements, transfer pricing execution, and global consolidations.

This role demands a highly motivated and experienced accounting professional who can navigate complex financial data, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and contribute to the strategic growth of the company.

Coinbase's work culture is intense and demanding, requiring high-caliber colleagues who excel in their disciplines and expect the same from their teammates. The company values feedback, continuous learning, and the ability to solve complex problems under pressure. While many roles at Coinbase are remote-first, the company also values in-person collaboration, with regular team and company-wide offsites throughout the year.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the global close operations, overseeing the team performing monthly close activities for global intercompany transactions to ensure timely and accurate eliminations and consolidated reporting.
  • Partner with Tax, Treasury, and Legal to understand new intercompany agreements and transfer pricing methodologies, designing and implementing scalable operational processes.
  • Manage all global processes for intercompany billing, cash settlements, and foreign exchange (FX) gain/loss analysis to ensure high levels of precision and operational excellence.
  • Design, implement, and document SOX-compliant internal controls over intercompany and GL processes to support Coinbase's evolving regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Finance Data and Engineering to investigate and resolve platform-related intercompany data issues and automate manual reconciliation workflows.
  • Lead the preparation of quarterly audit schedules and provide expert support for internal and external audits related to global entity management and consolidations.
  • Support and participate in GL-related projects, including M&A integration, new entity set-ups, and ERP enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Coinbase's financial systems, processes, and controls to continually identify areas for improvement.
