About the Role

What You Will Do

  • Perform actuarial research, experience studies, and statistical analyses and calculations to support business decisions
  • Calculate premiums and reserves of new and existing plans of insurance, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
  • Provide support to senior analysts or actuaries as required, demonstrating a willingness to learn and grow
  • Retrieve and validate data for rate filings and actuarial models, ensuring data integrity and compliance
  • Build model enhancements and determine reasons for changes to calculated factors, showcasing analytical skills
  • Analyze impacts of changes to product lines and segments, providing insights to inform business strategy
  • Communicate filing status to internal stakeholders and transmit rate filings to regulatory agencies, ensuring timely and effective communication
  • Retrieve and validate data for monthly reports and for UCL and ALR calculation, maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail
  • Support valuation by executing ALR model and verifying results, demonstrating technical expertise
  • Research to support ALR assumption studies and UCL estimates, staying up-to-date with industry trends and developments
  • Distribute established reports and respond to inquiries, providing excellent customer service
  • Investigate trends and anomalies, applying analytical skills to identify areas for improvement
  • Execute control activities to support Enterprise Risk Management, ensuring compliance and mitigating risk
  • Provide analytic support for corporate and departmental projects, demonstrating a willingness to collaborate and contribute

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in a relevant field, such as actuarial science or mathematics
  • 2+ years of relevant actuarial experience, with a strong foundation in statistical analysis and Excel
  • Completion of at least 3 exams towards the eventual attainment of the ASA designation, demonstrating a commitment to professional development
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply theoretical concepts to real-world problems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
