The role of an adjunct faculty member at Lipscomb University is multifaceted, requiring a combination of teaching, curriculum development, and communication skills. What You Will Do
- Teach graduate-level courses in the business of film and TV, focusing on live action and/or animation industries
- Develop and implement curriculum for semester-long courses, considering learning outcomes and student assessment
- Communicate clearly and effectively with students, providing feedback and guidance throughout the semester
- Create and grade assignments, quizzes, and exams, using digital tools and platforms
- Participate in online meetings and discussions with students, using video conferencing tools
- Develop and maintain an online course environment, using learning management systems
- Collaborate with other faculty members to develop and implement curriculum
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, incorporating new knowledge and skills into teaching
- Evaluate and assess student learning outcomes, using data and feedback to improve teaching
- Develop and implement strategies to promote student engagement and participation
What We Are Looking For
- At least 5 years of experience in the film and TV industry, preferably in a role such as producer, sales/distribution, marketing, or representation
- Teaching experience at the college level, preferably in a graduate program
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students and colleagues
- Ability to create and teach engaging and informative lessons, using digital tools and platforms
- Experience with curriculum development and implementation, with a focus on student learning outcomes
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently
- Ability to work in a remote environment, using digital tools and platforms to communicate and collaborate
- Familiarity with learning management systems and video conferencing tools
Nice to Have
- Experience with online teaching and learning, preferably in a graduate program
- Knowledge of the entertainment industry, including trends and developments
