About the Role

The Adjunct Faculty position in Visual Design at Full Sail University is a part-time opportunity that allows you to share your expertise and passion for design with students. As an adjunct faculty member, you will be responsible for creating an engaging and effective learning environment, both on-campus and online. Your role will involve teaching design concepts, facilitating critiques, and helping students develop their skills in industry-standard software.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and teach courses in visual design, focusing on design concepts, typography, composition, and industry-standard software
  • Create a student-centered learning environment that encourages active participation and engagement
  • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies to cater to different learning styles and abilities
  • Conduct lectures, critiques, and online course meetings to ensure comprehensive coverage of course material

What We Are Looking For

  • A Master's or Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Communications, Illustration, Fine Art, Web Design, Digital Arts & Design, Motion Graphics, Multimedia, Emerging Media, Commercial Art, Advertising, Digital Media, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university
  • At least four years of verifiable work experience in a related field, preferably in education or a design-related industry
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including proofreading and editing for grammar and punctuation
  • Detail-oriented and able to multi-task while working independently and collaboratively with other teachers and university staff
  • Ability to interact professionally and constructively with students and staff at all levels in an immersive, fast-paced environment
  • Experience with art direction, design theory, illustration, computer graphics, and Adobe Design software
  • Understanding of the professional graphic design workflow and experience in the design industry
