About the Role

The Administrative Business Partner will play a pivotal role in supporting the leaders of OpenAI's Government and Global Affairs teams. This role requires a unique blend of administrative, technical, and interpersonal skills to ensure the seamless operation of these critical teams. As a trusted advisor and collaborator, the Administrative Business Partner will anticipate needs, streamline processes, and provide comprehensive support to enable executives to focus on high-impact initiatives.

The role is based in Washington, DC, and will require in-person attendance at OpenAI's DC office at least four days a week. The ideal candidate will be able to build strong connections within the Global Affairs and OpenAI for Government teams, facilitating seamless coordination on high-stakes projects.

What You Will Do

  • Build strong connections within Global Affairs and OpenAI for Government, and forge connective tissue between the two teams to help them operate together more seamlessly
  • Expertly manage the calendars, scheduling, and logistics of leaders in both organizations
  • Develop a deep understanding of team dynamics, priorities, and stakeholders to facilitate seamless coordination on high-stakes projects
  • Anticipate needs, streamline processes, and provide comprehensive support to enable executives to focus on high-impact initiatives
  • Work at the intersection of technology, policy, and operations to ensure that OpenAI's tools are deployed in ways that are effective, aligned with democratic values, and grounded in real-world consequences
  • Help shape OpenAI's engagement with senior national security leaders and policymakers around the world
  • Navigate the complex policy landscape of AI in government and global affairs
  • Provide hands-on support, tailored training, and early insights to help civil servants spend less time on red tape and more on meaningful work
  • Inform strategic decisions and position OpenAI as a credible partner on issues that matter to global security
  • Cultivate strong relationships and leverage deep understanding of business objectives to drive success and achieve key milestones

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in an administrative or business operations role, preferably in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and other productivity software
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and apply best practices to support evolving business needs
  • Deep understanding of business objectives and ability to cultivate strong relationships
  • Experience working in a role that requires confidentiality, discretion, and tact
