About the Role

The Adventure Travel Product Specialist role at The Natural Adventure is a unique opportunity for travel enthusiasts to turn their passion into a career. As a key member of the product team, you will be responsible for researching destinations, designing walking, hiking, and cycling routes, and ensuring that every detail of the trips meets the company's high standards of authenticity, sustainability, and independence. Your expertise in adventure travel, logistics, and route planning will play a pivotal role in delivering seamless experiences for clients.

Day-to-day, you will work closely with the operations team, destination managers, and local suppliers to craft engaging, well-paced itineraries that align with the company's brand. Your ability to multitask, work under pressure, and maintain attention to detail will be essential in this role. What You Will Do

  • Research destinations and design walking, hiking, and cycling routes that are engaging, well-paced, and aligned with the company's brand
  • Map and verify routes, considering terrain, difficulty levels, transport options, and key points of interest
  • Identify and collaborate with local hotels, guesthouses, transfer providers, and other partners to ensure high-quality experiences
  • Calculate pricing and ensure healthy profit margins by negotiating supplier rates, considering operational costs, and aligning with the company's pricing strategy
  • Prepare detailed trip notes, maps, GPX files, and travel guides to enhance the client experience
  • Gather and analyze feedback from travelers and local partners to continually improve itineraries
  • Work closely with the destination manager to update itineraries, pricing, and descriptions in the company's systems
  • Support adventure sales specialists with customer inquiries related to their trips
  • Ensure all trips align with the company's commitment to responsible travel and showcase local cultures and off-the-beaten-path experiences
  • Verify transport schedules and inform operations teams or customers directly of any disruptions
  • Manage emergency calls and logs while clients are on the ground, providing real-time solutions for unforeseen issues

What We Are Looking For

  • Passion for adventure travel and active tourism, particularly hiking and cycling
  • Proven experience in designing, managing, or operating self-guided walking or cycling holidays
  • Proficiency in route mapping tools
  • Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail
  • Very good English proficiency (both written and spoken)
  • Excellent communication skills (email, phone, and written content)
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure while maintaining accuracy
  • Availability to travel when needed to verify routes, inspect accommodations, and maintain supplier relationships
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently while collaborating with a remote team
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
  • Friendly, professional demeanor with a customer-centric approach
