About the Role
The Advisor, Exception Management, plays a crucial role in Cardinal Health's Revenue Management team, focusing on developing and executing pricing strategies that fall outside standard contract structures. This involves managing recurring daily, weekly, and monthly product pricing processes, as well as cross-training to maintain operational readiness on the full suite of team tasks. The role requires working both autonomously and as part of a team to solve problems, integrate new technologies, and assist with pricing inquiries and customer pricing setups.As a key member of the Exceptions Management team, the advisor will utilize and update standard operating procedure documents, moving swiftly between varied tasks without compromising attention to detail. The ability to strive for continuous improvement, prioritize efficiency, and maintain a strong focus on the big picture is essential. The advisor will also communicate and collaborate effectively across functions like IT, Marketing, and Finance to leverage key pricing insights.
What You Will Do
- Manage daily, weekly, and monthly product pricing processes to ensure timely and accurate price updates.
- Cross-train on the full suite of team tasks to maintain personal operational readiness and assist in covering gaps and solving problems.
- Complete ad hoc requests and engage in problem-solving to address immediate needs and improve processes.
- Assist with pricing inquiries and customer pricing setups to provide support and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Work to integrate new technologies and strategies to enhance pricing operations and stay ahead in the market.
- Utilize, review, and update standard operating procedure documents to maintain best practices and compliance.
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to deliver significant positive sales and margin impacts for Cardinal Health.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively across functions to enhance or explain existing processes, or design and implement new systems and tools.
- Research root causes for a wide range of problems and develop solutions, whether ad hoc or as part of a scheduled project.
- Maintain strong focus and attention to detail, recognizing how individual processes and solutions integrate into the overall strategy.
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- 4+ years of experience in a related field, with preference for background in revenue management, pricing strategies, or analytics.
- Competence in working efficiently with large datasets and analytics software.
- Experience with pricing strategies, pricing processes, pricing systems, and controls, as well as customer deal economics and financial modeling techniques.
- Ability to extract, manipulate, and prepare data from multiple internal and external sources to develop and execute pricing strategies.
- Generic pharmaceutical industry knowledge is a plus.
- Driven, intellectually curious, and dedicated to seeking insights to create and improve value-driving operations.
Nice to Have
- Experience in managing exceptions in pricing contracts and developing creative pricing strategies.
- Knowledge of IT systems used in pricing and revenue management.
- Certification in data analysis or a related field.
