AI Deployment Engineer- ChatGPT Ecosystem

About the Role

The Technical Success team acts as a trusted advisor and thought partner for OpenAI's customers, ensuring that developers and enterprises can fully leverage the capabilities of ChatGPT and the OpenAI API. The AI Deployment Engineering team, in particular, focuses on enabling high-impact and strategic customers and partners by collaborating closely to resolve technical challenges and co-build innovative ecosystem experiences. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a team that is pushing the boundaries of what is possible with AI and to contribute to the development of the ChatGPT ecosystem.

What You Will Do

• Deliver exceptional partner experiences by providing technical expertise, scoping use cases, and supporting the development of apps in ChatGPT and commerce checkout experiences with technical stakeholders and strategic partners.
• Partner with the Partnerships team to design and support ecosystem integrations, ensuring technical feasibility and high-impact launches.
• Guide partners on best practices for leveraging the OpenAI API and ChatGPT to create secure, scalable, and differentiated experiences.
• Serve as the first line of defense for design, security, compliance, and architecture questions, escalating complex requirements to internal experts as needed.
• Create and maintain documentation, implementation guides, and FAQs for common partner requirements and technical challenges.
• Gather partner feedback and represent the voice of the ecosystem to internal teams, helping shape product roadmaps and future partner programs.
• Collaborate with the GTM team to develop and implement go-to-market strategies for partners.
• Develop and maintain technical relationships with key partners, providing them with support and guidance on integrating OpenAI's technology into their products and services.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in AI and machine learning, applying this knowledge to improve the partner experience and drive innovation within the ecosystem.

What We Are Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in a technical, customer-facing role such as Solutions Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Partner Engineer.
• Strong understanding of and experience working with LLMs, MCP, REST APIs, Python, JavaScript, and front-end design and development experience.
• Experience supporting ecosystem or partner motions, including co-development or joint go-to-market programs.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to business stakeholders and executives.
• Ability to operate with high horsepower, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and thrive in a fast-changing environment with evolving commercial structures.
• Collaborative, humble attitude with an eagerness to help partners and internal teams succeed.
• Experience working with Agile development methodologies and version control systems such as Git.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop creative solutions.
• Experience with cloud-based technologies and containerization using Docker.

Nice to Have

• Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices, with experience in securing cloud-based applications.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and product development.
• Certification in cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Experience with data analytics and visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
