Job Description

About the Role

The AI Deployment Engineering team at Openai plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective deployment of Generative AI applications for developers and enterprises. As an AI Deployment Engineer, you will serve as a trusted advisor and thought partner for customers, working to build an effective backlog of GenAI use cases for their industry and driving them to production through strong technical guidance. This is a high-impact role that requires a deep understanding of AI technology, as well as the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

The AI Deployment Engineer role is part of the Technical Success team, reporting to the Head of Technical Success, APAC. You will work closely with senior customer leaders to establish a GenAI strategy and identify the highest value applications, and then partner with their technical teams to move from prototype to production. This role is based in Seoul, South Korea, and offers a hybrid work model with 3 days in the office per week.

What You Will Do

  • Embed with strategic platform customers as the technical lead, serving as their technical thought partner to ideate and build novel applications on Openai's API
  • Identify the best applications of GenAI in customers' industries and build/qualify a comprehensive backlog to support their AI roadmap
  • Intervene directly to accelerate customer time to value through building hands-on prototypes and/or delivering impactful strategic guidance
  • Forge and manage relationships with customers' leadership and stakeholders to ensure the successful deployment and scale of their applications
  • Contribute to open-source developer and enterprise resources, including sharing knowledge, codifying best practices, and publishing notebooks to internal and external repositories
  • Scale the Solutions Architect function by sharing knowledge, codifying best practices, and publishing notebooks to internal and external repositories
  • Validate, synthesize, and deliver high-signal feedback to the Product and Research teams
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Applied Research, and Product teams to drive customer success and identify new business opportunities
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Openai's products and services, including ChatGPT and the Openai API
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in AI and machine learning, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in customer solutions

What We Are Looking For

  • 6+ years of technical consulting (or equivalent) experience, bridging technical teams and senior business stakeholders
  • Effective and polished communication skills, with the ability to translate business and technical topics to all audiences
  • Experience leading complex implementations of Generative AI/traditional ML solutions, with knowledge of network/cloud architecture
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python or Javascript
  • Ability to own problems end-to-end, with a willingness to pick up whatever knowledge is missing to get the job done
  • Humble attitude, eagerness to help colleagues, and a desire to do whatever it takes to make the team succeed
  • Effective, high-throughput operator who can drive multiple concurrent projects and prioritize ruthlessly
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong ability to adapt to changing circumstances
  • Strong understanding of AI and machine learning concepts, including deep learning and natural language processing

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with cloud-based AI platforms, such as AWS or Google Cloud
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and version control systems like Git
  • Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment
  • Certification in AI or machine learning, such as the Certified Data Scientist or Certified AI Engineer
