About the Role

The AI Deployment Engineering team at Openai plays a pivotal role in the safe and effective deployment of Generative AI applications. As a trusted advisor and thought partner for customers, the team works closely to identify high-value use cases and drive them to production. The role of an AI Deployment Engineer is multifaceted, involving both technical guidance and strategic partnerships with senior customer leaders.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the technical and business aspects of AI deployment, with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to various audiences. The position requires a unique blend of technical expertise, product mindset, and interpersonal skills.

What You Will Do

  • Embed with strategic platform customers as a technical lead to ideate and build novel applications on Openai's API.
  • Identify and qualify high-value applications of GenAI with senior customer stakeholders.
  • Develop hands-on prototypes or deliver strategic guidance to accelerate customer time to value.
  • Foster and manage relationships with customer leadership and stakeholders to ensure successful deployment and scaling of applications.
  • Contribute to open-source developer and enterprise resources.
  • Scale the Solutions Architect function by sharing knowledge, codifying best practices, and publishing notebooks.
  • Validate, synthesize, and deliver high-signal feedback to the Product and Research teams.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Applied Research, and Product teams.
  • Report to the Head of Technical Success, APAC.

What We Are Looking For

  • 6+ years of technical consulting experience, bridging technical teams and senior business stakeholders.
  • Effective and polished communication skills to translate business and technical topics to all audiences.
  • Experience leading complex implementations of Generative AI/traditional ML solutions.
  • Knowledge of network/cloud architecture.
  • Programming skills in languages like Python or Javascript.
  • Ability to own problems end-to-end and learn new skills as needed.
  • Humble attitude with an eagerness to help colleagues and drive team success.
  • Effective operator who can drive multiple projects and prioritize tasks ruthlessly.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with hybrid work models and relocation to new environments.
