As a key member of the AI Deployment Engineering team, you will have the opportunity to work on complex workflows, identify gaps, and develop durable improvements that can be applied across multiple use cases. What You Will Do

• Work directly with strategic startup customers to understand critical workflows and identify high-impact opportunities for improvement
• Prototype and iterate on prompts, agents, and workflow designs to better understand system behavior and unlock customer value
• Synthesize and deliver valuable feedback to the Product and Research teams, turning real usage patterns into clear, reproducible evaluations and technical artifacts
• Build repeatable tools, patterns, and evaluation approaches that raise the quality bar across multiple use cases
• Operate with strong judgment in ambiguous environments, balancing immediate technical problem-solving with longer-term system improvement
• Build relationships within the startup ecosystem, serving as a technical partner to both individual customers and the broader community
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including research, product, and engineering, to shape Openai's research and product direction
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Openai's technology and its applications in various industries
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI and machine learning, and apply this knowledge to improve Openai's products and services

What We Are Looking For

• Strong software engineering and AI fundamentals, with experience in shipping production systems end-to-end
• Experience as a technical founder, or engineer at an early-stage startup, with a focus on AI and machine learning
• Familiarity with model training pipelines and reinforcement learning, with a strong understanding of how to apply these concepts in real-world scenarios
• Experience building AI applications, agents, or evaluation systems, with a focus on complex workflows and high-value use cases
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively across technical and non-technical audiences, with a strong focus on collaboration and partnership
• High agency, strong product sense, and a bias toward building durable improvements rather than one-off fixes
• Proficiency in German, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working in a remote or hybrid environment, with a strong ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud-based technologies, such as AWS or Google Cloud, with a focus on scalability and reliability
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban, with a focus on iterative development and continuous improvement
• Experience with machine learning frameworks, such as TensorFlow or PyTorch, with a focus on model development and deployment
