Job Description
About the Role
The AI Partner Development role at Plaid is a critical link between the company's go-to-market teams, product team, and the external AI market. As a key member of the AI GTM Pod, you will be responsible for operationalizing Plaid's AI strategy, driving partnerships with AI companies, and ensuring the company's roadmap reflects the needs of its customers and partners. The role entails working closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, account management, and product, to bring deals to life and establish Plaid as a trusted partner in the AI ecosystem.The AI GTM team's goal is to accelerate Plaid's footprint in AI by selling into and partnering with AI companies of all sizes. This team works cross-functionally to ensure Plaid is the financial and identity provider of choice for AI companies, while also future-proofing the company's product set in an AI-driven ecosystem.
What You Will Do
- Own Plaid's approach to AI partnerships, including driving the initial strategy and owning cross-functional stakeholder management
- Identify new AI-native partners and use cases for Plaid
- Own and drive AI-related deals across partnerships
- Identify, structure, and execute industry-first AI partnerships
- Develop points of view on AI trends, competitive landscape, and emerging partner needs
- Support cross-functional GTM initiatives, including marketing, enablement, and events
- Contribute to building and scaling the AI GTM Pod
- Collaborate with the product team to ensure Plaid's roadmap reflects the needs of its customers and partners
- Work closely with the sales team to drive deals and partnerships with AI companies
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in AI and fintech
What We Are Looking For
- 7-10+ years of experience in partnerships, business development, or corporate development
- Proven ability to drive deals and manage external relationships
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to operate in ambiguity and build from 0→1
- Interest in AI and emerging technologies
- Experience working with AI companies or developer/API platforms
- Background in fintech or financial infrastructure
- Startup or high-growth environment experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects

- Experience with AI-powered financial solutions
- Knowledge of machine learning and natural language processing
- Familiarity with cloud-based technologies and platforms
