About the Role
The AI platform software engineer role at Ascensus is a unique opportunity for technical professionals to make a significant impact on the company's AI-powered solutions. As a key member of the team, the successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting AI behavior, identifying systemic gaps, and driving continuous improvement in platform performance and usage. The role involves working closely with internal associates to resolve issues and partnering with engineering teams to diagnose root causes across large language models, agent workflows, and backend systems.The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and experience working with AI and Salesforce. They will be able to reproduce issues, analyze logs and telemetry, and clearly document findings to partner with engineering on resolution. The role requires a strong understanding of AI system operations, technical support, and product enablement, as well as excellent communication skills to translate technical issues into clear explanations for non-technical users.
What You Will Do
- Investigate and resolve issues reported by users of Agent Assist
- Reproduce issues and trace failures across LLM responses and prompts, agent workflows and orchestration, and tool/MCP calls and backend integrations
- Analyze logs, traces, and telemetry to identify root causes of issues
- Clearly document findings and partner with engineering on resolution
- Identify whether issues stem from prompting, retrieval, tool selection, or backend systems
- Propose improvements to agents, skills, prompts, and workflows
- Use AI-powered tools to accelerate debugging, analysis, and solutioning
- Contribute to continuous improvement of system reliability and response quality
- Train internal users on how to effectively use Agent Assist
- Run targeted demos, onboarding sessions, and office hours
- Act as a trusted advisor to client-facing associates
- Drive adoption by helping users understand both capabilities and limitations
What We Are Looking For
- Up to 3 years' experience in a technical support, QA, SDET, or engineering-adjacent role
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business Information Systems, or a related technical field
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and debug technical issues, focusing on root cause analysis
- Foundational experience or exposure to API testing, reading logs and debugging application behavior, and basic SQL or data inspection
- Experience using or willingness to learn AI-powered development tools
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical issues into clear explanations for non-technical users
- Experience working with Salesforce or similar CRM systems
- Knowledge of AI and machine learning concepts and techniques
Nice to Have
- Experience with Azure DevOps and Langfuse
- Familiarity with NewRelic logs and telemetry
- Knowledge of natural language processing and large language models
- Experience working in an Agile development environment
