About the Role
The Airline Key Account Manager role is a critical position within 3M's Aerospace division, responsible for maintaining and growing assigned Key Accounts. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies, managing customer relationships, and driving business growth. This role requires a deep understanding of the aerospace industry, as well as excellent sales, negotiation, and influencing skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, preferably within the aerospace industry, and a proven track record of success in managing complex customer relationships. You will be working closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and product development, to drive business growth and stay ahead of the competition. As a Key Account Manager, you will be at the forefront of this effort, working closely with airlines, manufacturers, and other industry partners to drive business growth and stay ahead of the curve.What You Will Do
- Develop and implement sales strategies for assigned Key Accounts, including airlines and other industry partners
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, including regular communication, meetings, and sales calls
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including new customers and new sales channels
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and product development, to drive business growth and stay ahead of the competition
- Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities and challenges, and adjust sales strategies accordingly
- Provide excellent customer service, including responding to customer inquiries, resolving issues, and providing support as needed
- Travel to customer sites, industry events, and other locations as needed to support sales efforts and build relationships
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the aerospace industry, including trends, challenges, and opportunities
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments, including new technologies, regulations, and market trends
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field, such as business, marketing, or engineering
- At least 8 years of sales experience, preferably within the aerospace industry
- Strong sales, negotiation, and influencing skills, with a proven track record of success in managing complex customer relationships
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze sales data and market trends and adjust sales strategies accordingly
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork
- Willingness to travel, including domestic and international travel, as needed to support sales efforts and build relationships
- Strong knowledge of the aerospace industry, including trends, challenges, and opportunities
Nice to Have
- Master's degree in a relevant field, such as business, marketing, or engineering
- Experience with CRM software, such as Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics
- Experience with sales analytics and data analysis tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
- Certification in sales or a related field, such as CSP or CSO
