About the Role
The Akan Language Expert position at AuraOne is a remote, contractor-based role that involves evaluating Akan language evaluation model outputs against a versioned rubric. This role is crucial for improving the quality and accuracy of AuraOne's AI models. As a member of the evaluation team, you will be responsible for comparing paired outputs, labeling edge cases, and providing structured feedback that can be used to retrain the models.The role requires a high level of attention to detail, as well as the ability to work independently in a remote setting. What You Will Do
- Evaluate Akan language evaluation model outputs against a versioned rubric and assign severity tags.
- Compare paired responses and pick the stronger answer with a written rationale.
- Label hallucinations, instruction-following failures, and unsafe content with structured tags.
- Capture ambiguous prompts and route them back to the program team for rubric updates.
- Maintain reviewer-quality scores by calibrating against gold-standard examples each week.
- Document recurring failure modes so the modeling team can target them in the next training run.
- Audit batches for rubric consistency and report drift to the program lead.
- Propose rubric clarifications after spotting recurring failure modes.
- Collaborate with the program team to improve the overall quality of the evaluation process.
What We Are Looking For
- Prior evaluation, annotation, or human-rater experience on Akan language evaluation or adjacent content.
- Comfort applying multi-page rubrics consistently across long batches.
- Clear written reasoning that names the issue and the rubric clause being applied.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to flag when a prompt itself is the problem.
- Reliable async availability for at least 10 hours per week.
- Experience with digital tools and platforms used for evaluation and annotation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with remote teams.
