About the Role

The Alternative Distribution Relationship Manager role at iCapital is a senior position that entails leading sales coverage in Northern Texas and Oklahoma. As a key member of the Alternatives Distribution Sales team, this individual will be responsible for driving the adoption of alternative investments among existing and new users. The role is based in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and will report to the Regional Director.

The Alternatives Distribution Sales team is focused on promoting alternative investment products to registered investment advisors, regional and independent broker-dealers, and bank trust clientele. This team plays a critical role in helping financial advisors build better portfolios, have more informed conversations with their clients, and grow their businesses.

As a senior member of the team, the Alternative Distribution Relationship Manager will be expected to develop and execute a consultative sales process that meets the unique needs of each client. This will involve working closely with advisors, general partners, and other key stakeholders to build trust and stay ahead of market trends and opportunities.

What You Will Do

  • Execute a consultative sales process to increase adoption of alternative investments among existing and new users
  • Develop sales proficiency across private credit, private equity, real estate, and hedge funds
  • Build strong relationships with advisors, general partners, and other key stakeholders through regular in-market meetings
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and apply this knowledge to inform sales strategies
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing and product specialists, to stay informed about new products and initiatives
  • Provide world-class service to existing platform asset holders, and identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell alternative investment products
  • Use data and CRM to inform sales decisions and track progress against goals
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the alternative investment landscape, including market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, and work with the sales team to develop and execute a strategy to win new clients

What We Are Looking For

  • 8+ years of experience in the alternative investment industry in a client-facing capacity
  • Self-motivated, client-first mindset, with a strong desire to build a sales career with an industry leader
  • Expertise in RIA, independent BD, or bank distribution segments
  • Demonstrated success building a region, using data and CRM to inform decisions, and implementing a well-defined sales process
  • Series 7 and 63 licenses are required
  • CAIA certification is preferred, or the ability to obtain within three years of hire
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to build trust with advisors, general partners, and other key stakeholders
  • Ability to sell and provide post-sale support for a world-class platform of hedge funds, private equity, private credit, and real estate offerings

  • Experience working with alternative investment products, including private credit, private equity, and hedge funds
  • Strong understanding of the alternative investment landscape, including market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments
  • Experience using CRM systems, such as Salesforce, to track sales activity and progress against goals
