About the Role

The Alumni Relationship Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for ALX Africa's alumni community, playing a key role in identifying success stories and activating alumni engagement. This role is crucial in strengthening the overall impact of the ALX ecosystem, which aims to bridge the digital divide and upskill talent in Africa. As part of the team, the Alumni Relationship Manager will work closely with various stakeholders to drive community engagement and create value for the broader community.

Day-to-day, the role entails building meaningful relationships with alumni, understanding their journeys, and turning conversations into insights that can inform community engagement strategies. The ideal candidate will be able to identify and share stories of impact that inspire others and strengthen the community.

The Alumni Relationship Manager will be part of a dedicated team that is passionate about unlocking Africa's digital future. With hubs in 8 cities across Africa, ALX Africa provides safe access to quality learning and a dedicated network of expert instructors.

What You Will Do

  • Build and maintain relationships with ALX Africa's alumni community
  • Identify and share stories of impact that inspire others and strengthen the community
  • Develop and implement community engagement strategies to activate alumni participation
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to drive community engagement and create value for the broader community
  • Analyze data and insights to inform community engagement strategies
  • Develop and maintain a database of alumni success stories and impact
  • Create and distribute regular newsletters and updates to the alumni community
  • Organize and facilitate community events and webinars
  • Provide support and guidance to alumni seeking to upskill or reskill
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in community engagement and alumni relations

What We Are Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in community engagement, alumni relations, or a related field
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Experience with data analysis and insights to inform community engagement strategies
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with digital tools and platforms for community engagement
  • Strong understanding of the African tech industry and digital landscape
  • Fluency in English and French (optional)

Nice to Have

  • Experience with CRMs and database management
  • Knowledge of marketing automation tools and email marketing platforms
  • Experience with event planning and management
  • Familiarity with social media analytics and content creation
  • Certification in community engagement or a related field
