## About the Role The Analyst II, Full Stack role at Affirm is a critical component of the company's Credit Analytics team, which plays a vital role in shaping the business strategy through data-driven decision-making. As a key member of this team, you will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders, including Product, Engineering, and Commercial teams, to design and implement credit risk management frameworks that balance growth, compliance, and risk mitigation goals. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve leveraging advanced data analytics to derive insights and optimize credit strategies, partnering with Engineering to design and build scalable risk models, and monitoring portfolio performance to proactively adjust underwriting and marketing strategies.

The Credit Analytics team is responsible for enabling sustainable growth while closely managing the profitability and resilience of Affirm's portfolio. As the company continues on an exciting growth trajectory, the team's mandate includes thinking through credit policies for new initiatives and products, shaping ongoing testing and experimentation, and navigating exogenous changes that may impact the business. Your expertise and analytical rigor will be essential in driving cross-functional discussions to ensure new product launches and market entries are aligned with risk appetite, operational capabilities, and local regulations.

## What You Will Do - Leverage advanced data analytics to derive insights and optimize credit strategies across products and geographies.

  • Partner with Engineering to design and build scalable risk models and credit risk capabilities.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and macroeconomic trends that impact loan outcomes; proactively adjust underwriting and marketing strategies to mitigate risk.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Legal, and Compliance teams to interpret evolving regulatory and market requirements across jurisdictions, and translate them into credit policy, underwriting, and product design recommendations.
  • Engage and coordinate with external stakeholders — including merchants, vendors, and regulatory bodies — to align credit risk practices, ensure compliance, and strengthen strategic partnerships.
  • Oversee the development and execution of credit underwriting frameworks that balance growth, compliance, and risk mitigation goals.
  • Drive cross-functional discussions to ensure new product launches and market entries are aligned with risk appetite, operational capabilities, and local regulations.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of credit risk management processes and procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies that may impact credit risk management.
## What We Are Looking For - Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related field, and 2+ years of experience (or equivalent senior-level experience).
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, or other scripting languages.
  • Experience with data mining, data visualization, and statistical modeling.
  • Applying machine learning techniques to credit risk management.
  • Leveraging advanced analytics to develop and optimize credit strategies.
  • Monitoring and interpreting model performance metrics across portfolios.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional initiatives that bridge Product, Legal, Compliance, and Engineering teams.
  • Strong understanding of credit risk management principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
