About the Role

The Analytics Engineering team at Coinbase plays a critical role in building and maintaining trusted data infrastructure across the organization. As an Analytics Engineer, you will focus on developing reliable, well-governed data foundations for compliance and regulatory reporting across Coinbase's international entities. Your mission will be to build a platform that enables compliance stakeholders to answer regulatory questions independently with confidence and accuracy.

The role requires a deep understanding of regulatory data requirements and the ability to design and build data models that serve as the foundation for regulatory reporting. You will work closely with compliance stakeholders to translate regulatory requirements into durable, machine-readable formats and implement reconciliation against prior submissions.

What You Will Do

  • Design and build data models that serve as the foundation for regulatory reporting, with the entity-level granularity and definitions regulators require
  • Build and maintain data quality checks, monitoring, and data contracts; implement reconciliation against prior submissions
  • Write specs and definitions that AI tools use to generate pipelines and answer regulatory questions accurately
  • Standardize regulatory metric definitions, entity-specific nuances, and historical reporting decisions into durable, machine-readable formats
  • Partner with Compliance, Legal, and Business Operations to translate regulatory requirements into action
  • Develop deep expertise in the regulatory data landscape and stay up-to-date with changing regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize data needs
  • Develop and maintain documentation of data models, data quality checks, and other relevant processes
  • Participate in company-wide offsites to foster collaboration, connection, and alignment

What We Are Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in analytics engineering or a related field
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and data modeling
  • Experience with data quality checks, monitoring, and data contracts
  • Ability to write specs and definitions for AI tools
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and data landscapes
  • Experience working with compliance stakeholders to translate regulatory requirements into action
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
