About the Role
The Analytics Manager at Affirm will be a key member of the Risk & Analytics team, responsible for making crucial decisions that direct the company's business strategy. This team designs and runs experiments to decide which product features to launch and which marketing campaigns to fund, analyzing performance to determine where to invest resources for maximum impact. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate complex insights to both technical and non-technical audiences. As part of the Operations Planning & Analytics team, the Analytics Manager will leverage data-driven insights to drive overall loan portfolio risk mitigation and servicing strategies. This will involve collaborating with cross-functional partners to understand their business priorities, formulating and executing end-to-end analytics workflows, and developing meaningful dashboards and forecasts. - Empower the organization with strong hypotheses, insights, and recommendations to build and prioritize Servicing product & Operations roadmaps
- Develop and execute end-to-end analytics roadmaps by partnering closely with product, operations, commercial, engineering, and other teams to grow the Affirm network
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to understand their business priorities, formulate and execute end-to-end analytics workflows that include defining critical metrics, data instrumentation and gathering, experimentation, analysis, and building meaningful dashboards and forecasts
- Translate analytical outcomes and results into compelling narratives and presentations for multiple levels of leadership
- Improve the overall efficiency of the team through automation and implementation of best practices
- Actively contribute to a high-performing team culture, managing other analysts to be effective in delivering high-impact and business-driving work
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the organization to ensure alignment and understanding of analytics initiatives
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in analytics capabilities
What We Are Looking For
- 7+ years of proven ability in an analytical role, with 3+ years of directly managing small teams of analysts
- Strong social skills and experience managing and collaborating on cross-functionally projects
- Experience with simultaneously balancing multiple workstreams and prioritizing team's roadmap
- Experience pulling and joining large data sets with SQL and performing analysis using tools such as Python, Notebooks, R, or Excel
- Ability to start with an ambiguous problem, deconstruct it into tangible steps, and work towards an impactful solution
- Proficiency in communicating research and analysis to technical and non-technical audiences
- An appreciation for qualitative and quantitative analysis and an admiration for good design with a working understanding of proper measurement and experimentation
- Willingness to go out of your way to help teammates
- Previous experience in guiding junior analysts
Nice to Have
- Experience with machine learning and predictive modeling
- Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms and tools such as AWS or Google Cloud
- Certification in data science or a related field
