About the Role
The Analytics Manager, Full Stack, will play a pivotal role in Affirm's Fraud Strategy & Analytics team, working closely with cross-functional partners to develop and implement strategies for monitoring and preventing fraud across the network. This role is critical in helping Affirm scale internationally while ensuring the platform remains safe and secure for its users. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fraud management and analytics, with the ability to leverage advanced data analytics to drive insights and optimize fraud management strategies.As a key member of the team, the Analytics Manager will be responsible for advising on best practices, ensuring alignment with risk management goals, and reporting on fraud trends and loss drivers to senior management and cross-functional partners. The role will also involve working with the operations team to limit losses and ensure optimal review volumes, as well as assisting in the evaluation and development of new features and signals to enhance fraud detection capabilities.

What You Will Do
- Develop strategies for monitoring and preventing fraud across Affirm's network, advising on best practices and aligning with risk management goals.
- Leverage advanced data analytics to identify loss drivers, derive insights, and optimize fraud management strategies.
- Report on fraud trends and loss drivers to cross-functional partners and senior management, providing actionable insights to inform decision-making.
- Respond quickly to fraud rings and ensure issues raised by other teams are addressed in a timely manner, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.
- Work together with the operations team to help limit losses and ensure optimal review volumes, emphasizing collaboration and effective communication.
- Assist with the evaluation and development of new external or internal features/signals to improve fraud detection capabilities, staying abreast of industry trends and technological advancements.
- Participate in team planning and goal setting, as well as coaching and mentoring more junior team members, promoting a culture of learning and growth.
- Collaborate with the product team to understand how the product works and identify opportunities to make it more effective in preventing fraud, showcasing a product-oriented mindset.
What We Are Looking For
- 7+ years of experience in Fraud Management or a related field, with a prior emphasis on analytics.
- Product knowledge and a passion for understanding how the product works and how to change it to make it more effective.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and be responsive and available during times of peak fraud activity, demonstrating resilience and flexibility.
- Technical skills, including extensive experience writing and analyzing SQL queries and comfort using Python or other scripting languages for data analysis.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build strong cross-functional partnerships and communicate analyses and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Multi-tasking abilities, with strong time management skills and the ability to shift focus on a moment's notice to respond to changes in fraud pressure and tactics.
- Industry knowledge, including a working knowledge of the fundamentals of payment processing and an understanding of industry risk trends, including familiarity with risk strategy development.
- Bachelor’s degree, or local equivalent, in a quantitatively rigorous field like engineering, statistics, math, finance, or economics.
