About the Role
As an Android Developer at Bjak, you will play a key role in building and evolving the company's mobile applications that power its insurance and financial products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and backend engineers, to simplify complex user journeys and deliver high-quality mobile experiences.The role is fully remote, and you will be part of a global engineering team working across multiple countries to build reliable, scalable mobile systems. Your day-to-day tasks will include developing and delivering Android features using Kotlin, building intuitive mobile experiences across insurance, payments, claims, renewals, and financial services.
What You Will Do
- Develop and deliver Android features using Kotlin
- Build intuitive mobile experiences across insurance, payments, claims, renewals, and financial services
- Work closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to simplify complex user journeys
- Integrate backend APIs and ensure mobile applications remain stable, reliable, and performant
- Improve app performance by reducing ANRs, crashes, memory consumption, and battery usage
- Use analytics, production insights, and user feedback to continuously improve the product
- Build AI-assisted mobile experiences where they genuinely enhance the user journey
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code while contributing to code reviews and engineering best practices
- Collaborate with the team to identify and prioritize new features and improvements
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the codebase
What We Are Looking For
- 3+ years of Android development experience using Kotlin
- Strong experience building and shipping production Android applications
- Good understanding of Jetpack Compose, Android SDK, Coroutines, Flow, and modern Android architecture patterns
- Strong understanding of mobile UX, usability, and user flows
- Experience integrating REST APIs and debugging production issues
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, fully remote engineering team
- High ownership, fast execution, and strong attention to quality
- GitHub, Google Play links, or examples of shipped applications are highly preferred
- Experience with TensorFlow Lite (on-device inference) is a plus
Nice to Have
- Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases
- Knowledge of mobile security best practices
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies
