About the Role

The APAC Sales Development Leader role is a critical component of OpenAI's Enterprise Go-To-Market organization, responsible for building and leading the sales development team across Asia Pacific. This high-impact leadership role will focus on scaling pipeline generation and driving market development across the region. As the leader of the sales development organization, you will be responsible for defining how OpenAI engages with enterprise customers, developing regional SDR strategies, and creating the operating model that drives high-quality pipeline creation.

The APAC Sales Development Leader will report directly to the Head of Global Sales Development and will be a key member of the Enterprise GTM leadership team. This role requires a deep understanding of the APAC market, including the nuances of enterprise selling, the ability to develop and execute regional SDR strategies, and a strong track record of driving pipeline generation and sales growth.

The sales development team will play a critical role in driving OpenAI's growth in the APAC region, and the APAC Sales Development Leader will be responsible for building and leading this team. This will include hiring, training, and developing front-line SDR managers and SDR teams, as well as establishing a data-driven operating cadence that focuses on pipeline quality, conversion, velocity, and long-term revenue impact.

What You Will Do

  • Build and scale OpenAI's APAC Sales Development organization, including hiring strategy, org design, enablement, and performance management
  • Lead and develop front-line SDR managers and SDR teams across key APAC markets
  • Own the regional enterprise pipeline generation strategy, ensuring consistent, high-quality opportunity creation across the region
  • Translate product usage, pilots, developer engagement, and inbound interest into qualified enterprise opportunities
  • Develop localized and vertical-specific SDR motions tailored to APAC markets and buying environments
  • Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Field Engineering, Partnerships, and Strategy & Ops to drive a coordinated regional GTM motion
  • Establish scalable outbound, inbound, ABM, partner-led, and product-led pipeline generation playbooks
  • Build a data-driven operating cadence focused on pipeline quality, conversion, velocity, and long-term revenue impact
  • Help define OpenAI's market expansion strategy across APAC, including investment prioritization and territory planning
  • Serve as a strategic partner to regional sales leadership on how to capture and accelerate enterprise demand

What We Are Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise sales, revenue, or GTM leadership
  • Significant experience leading SDR or pipeline generation organizations across APAC
  • Experience managing distributed, multicultural teams across multiple countries and time zones
  • Experience building or scaling enterprise demand generation engines in fast-growing technology or platform businesses
  • Fluency in product-led and usage-based GTM motions (PQLs, pilots, free-to-paid, expansion)
  • Understanding of the complexity and nuance of enterprise selling across APAC markets
  • Highly data-driven, with strong experience in forecasting, pipeline analytics, and operational rigor
  • Ability to thrive in matrixed organizations spanning Sales, Product, Marketing, Partnerships, and Operations
  • Exceptional talent builder with the ability to coach leaders and influence senior stakeholders
  • Strong executive presence and the ability to engage with enterprise customers and partners across the region
