About the Role
The Application Analyst I position at Nordic Global is a critical role that provides frontline support for clinical and business applications within the Managed Services division. This role is ideal for recent entrants to the healthcare IT industry who have gained applications certifications or preliminary experience. Day-to-day, the Application Analyst will be responsible for responding to application support requests, managing documentation, and collaborating with vendors and team members.The team context for this role involves working closely with other Application Analysts, as well as with clinical and business stakeholders to ensure that applications are meeting the needs of end-users. The reporting structure for this role is not specified, but it is expected that the Application Analyst will work under the guidance of a senior leader or manager.
Given the nature of the role, it is essential for the Application Analyst to have a strong understanding of clinically integrated hospital and physician office workflows, as well as the ability to learn and leverage existing application documentation to provide effective support.
What You Will Do
- Respond to application support requests and incidents within defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs), ensuring excellent customer service and communication
- Manage application and team documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and relevancy
- Establish and maintain relationships with software vendors to ensure high-level support
- Assist in planning and executing application upgrades and security patches
- Participate in smaller analyst-led projects, learning basic project management tasks such as scheduling meetings and taking meeting minutes
- Learn clinically integrated hospital and physician office workflows, including both clinical and business aspects
- Comply with all written team policies and procedures
- Learn and leverage existing details of application documentation to provide effective and informed application support
- Understand the entire application lifecycle, including implementations, upgrades, and eventual decommissioning and data archiving
- Advance application knowledge and understanding from mentor/lead during the first 12 months
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Healthcare Informatics, Computer Sciences, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in healthcare IT or an equivalent IT application analyst position with a degree requirement
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
- Experience with Epic HB/Claims or similar healthcare applications
Nice to Have
- Experience with project management tools and methodologies
- Certification in healthcare IT or a related field
- Knowledge of clinically integrated workflows and practices
