About the Role

The Application Analyst II, Clinical, is a critical role within the Information Solutions team at the Medical University of South Carolina. This position supports the academic, research, and healthcare missions of the institution by providing operational, consultative, and collaborative functions. The successful candidate will work under indirect supervision, assisting with the implementation and maintenance of clinical program supporting applications, maintaining system updates, and supporting operational end-users.

What You Will Do

  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of clinical program supporting applications
  • Maintain system updates and ensure seamless integration with existing systems
  • Provide proactive and reactive support to operational end-users, resolving issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Participate in team and project meetings, contributing to discussions and decision-making processes
  • Assist with onboarding new hires, providing guidance and training as needed
  • Lead designated projects, ensuring successful implementation and outcomes
  • Provide input on intelligent solutions to improve efficiency and enhance patient care
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals and objectives
  • Develop and maintain documentation of processes, procedures, and system updates

What We Are Looking For

  • A high school diploma and six years of directly related experience (IS or clinical); or a bachelor's degree and two years of directly related experience; or a Master's Degree in a related field (IS, clinical, or business)
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, customer service, project management, and communication skills
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop creative solutions
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting, with knowledge of clinical applications and systems
  • Certification in a related field, such as healthcare IT or project management

Nice to Have

  • Experience with electronic health records (EHRs) and other healthcare technology systems
  • Knowledge of data analytics and reporting tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Certification in a related field, such as CompTIA Healthcare IT Technician or Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS)
  • Experience working in an academic or research environment, with knowledge of research protocols and regulations
