## About the Role As an Applied AI Engineer at Ramp, you will be responsible for designing and implementing AI-driven solutions to support the company's mission of building the smart infrastructure for finance teams. This role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for AI adoption and developing scalable, efficient, and reliable AI systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, data management, and machine learning, as well as excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
The Financial Intelligence team, part of Ramp's Applied AI org, powers the agentic analysis, FP&A, and book-close experiences that over 70,000 businesses rely on to run their finances. As an Applied AI Engineer on this team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the AI systems that support these experiences, working closely with data scientists, product managers, and engineers to ensure that the systems meet the needs of Ramp's customers.
The role will involve a mix of technical and collaborative work, including designing and implementing AI algorithms, developing and maintaining large-scale data systems, and working with stakeholders to identify opportunities for AI adoption. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and will be able to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
## What You Will Do - Design and implement AI-driven solutions to support Ramp's mission of building the smart infrastructure for finance teams - Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for AI adoption and develop scalable, efficient, and reliable AI systems - Develop and maintain large-scale data systems to support AI-driven solutions - Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and engineers to ensure that AI systems meet the needs of Ramp's customers - Design and implement AI algorithms to support financial analysis, planning, and decision-making - Work with stakeholders to identify opportunities for AI adoption and develop business cases for AI-driven solutions - Develop and maintain technical documentation for AI systems and algorithms - Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure that AI systems are integrated with other Ramp systems and tools - Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the overall codebase - Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in AI and machine learning, and apply this knowledge to improve Ramp's AI systems and algorithms
## What We Are Looking For - 5+ years of experience in software development, data management, and machine learning - Strong background in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ - Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch - Experience with data management systems such as relational databases or NoSQL databases - Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud - Experience with containerization using Docker - Experience with agile development methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
## Nice to Have - Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI - Experience with financial analysis and planning - Experience with cloud-based data warehousing solutions such as Snowflake or Redshift - Experience with natural language processing or computer vision - Experience with robotics or autonomous systems
