About the Role
The Architectural Drafter position at Archinect is a key role in the company's design-build process, supporting the creation of clear and accurate construction drawings for residential remodeling and construction projects. As a skilled drafter, you will work closely with designers, project managers, and construction staff to ensure that projects are completed efficiently and effectively.The role entails producing coordinated drawing sets, including floor plans, elevations, sections, details, and schedules, as well as developing permit and construction drawing sets. You will also be responsible for maintaining drawing standards, layering systems, and organized file structures, and updating drawings throughout the project lifecycle.
Archinect is a collaborative residential design-build firm, where designers, planners, and construction professionals work closely together to bring projects from concept through construction. As an Architectural Drafter, you will be an integral part of this process, working with a talented team of professionals to deliver exceptional homes for clients.
What You Will Do
- Produce residential architectural drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, details, and schedules
- Develop permit and construction drawing sets
- Translate design concepts and redlines into accurate construction documents
- Maintain drawing standards, layering systems, and organized file structures
- Update drawings throughout the project lifecycle, including revisions and as-built documentation
- Assist with drawings required for zoning, permitting, and estimating
- Coordinate drawings with designers, project managers, and construction staff
- Incorporate field feedback and construction revisions into updated drawings
- Participate in internal coordination meetings as needed
- Identify drawing conflicts early and collaborate on solutions
- Conduct occasional site visits to verify existing conditions or construction progress
What We Are Looking For
- Associate's degree or certificate in Architectural Drafting, Architecture, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of residential drafting experience preferred
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit strongly preferred)
- Experience preparing residential permit and construction drawing sets
- Experience documenting existing conditions and remodeling projects
- Strong understanding of residential construction methods and materials
- Excellent attention to detail and organization
- Ability to collaborate with design and construction teams in a design-build environment
Nice to Have
- Experience with Excel and other software applications
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations
- Certification in Architectural Drafting or a related field
